Christmas

The month of December, which is about to reach the end of the year, makes me feel hectic.
Under such circumstances, the glittering illuminations soften the rush of daily life and make you feel warm. When you walk around the city, it feels like Christmas.

Christmas is coming soon, but it is a day to commemorate the arrival of Jesus Christ. It’s a memorial day for those who came and were saved, but it’s now a big event all over the world, transcending religion.
By the way, there seem to be various theories as to why Christmas was on December 25th, and I would like to briefly introduce one of them.
During the Roman period, when the god of the sun was worshiped, the festival of the winter soul was held on December 25th. The days are getting longer and longer after the winter climax. The Dongzhi, which shifts from the season of long cold nights to the season of long shining warm sun, was called “the birthday of the sun”. For those who were saved by the transmission of Christianity, the arrival of Christ in the world was like a new light, and it was said that December 25th was Christmas. ..
On the other hand, it is universal, and the night of the 24th (Christmas Eve), which is the day before the 25th, is more exciting than the 25th, but there is actually a reason here as well.
The date changes at midnight in the time we use every day, but according to the “church calendar” used by the church, the day starts at sunset.
In other words, the sunset on the 24th started the 25th and was celebrated.
Therefore, even today, Eve on the 24th is exciting.
Originally a solemn and holy Christmas, over time, it has become an event to enjoy in addition to the original celebrations.
There are many different ways to enjoy Christmas, but one of the things that many people enjoy is sweets such as cakes.
Isn’t this the same for children and adults in the east and west?
Christmas cakes are common in Japan, but it is said that a famous pastry shop spread them, and decoration cakes made by applying fresh cream to a sponge cake and putting strawberries on it are standard.
In addition, sweets made with plenty of raisins, dried fruits, and sugar, such as Bush de Noel in France, Panettone in Italy, Stollen in Germany, and Christmas pudding in the United Kingdom, are eaten as standard.

Christmas is coming soon, and it’s one of the big things to spend with friends, but on a cold holy night, it would be nice to spend some time with your family while eating sweets.
